Jessica Alba’s company sues for trademark infringement

Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company is suing a marijuana product company for trademark infringement.

Executives at The Honest Company have filed a lawsuit against the bosses of Colorado-based company Honest Herbal, which sells cannabinoid rich hemp products such as oil and lotions, for trademark infringement, according to TMZ.com.

They believe their competitor in the health and wellbeing market is ripping off their brand name to boost sales and intentionally infringed on their trademark to cause confusion with customers, so they would think that their products are associated with Alba’s company’s.

The Honest Company executives claim they sent a cease-and-desist letter to Honest Herbal bosses earlier in September (17) warning that they would take legal action if they didn’t drop the Honest name. This notice was reportedly ignored.

In their lawsuit, they are seeking financial compensation and a judge to issue an order banning the company from using the Honest name.

Alba co-founded the company, which sells non-toxic eco-friendly products, in 2012.
