James Gunn targeted over Gillan’s shaved head

Moviemaker James Gunn has come under fire from fans of British actress Karen Gillan after she shaved her head for her role in his latest film Guardians Of The Galaxy. Gillan, who shot to fame as Doctor Who’s companion Amy Pond in the hit sci-fi drama, showed off her drastic new look at the Comic-Con event in San Diego, California earlier this month (Jul13) and revealed she shed her long locks for her villainous character in the action movie.
Gunn claims he has been subjected to a barrage of abuse from devotees opposed to his leading lady’s image overhaul and he took to his Twitter.com page last week (begs22Jul13) to ask critics to stop sending him hate mail.
He writes, “If you are sending me hate messages about making (Karen Gillan) shave her head, you might consider the overall state of your life.”
