Jamie Dornan has divulged that his former housemate Eddie Redmayne was “desperate” when they first started out in Hollywood.
The two actors took the plunge and moved to Los Angeles back in 2008 and ended up becoming roommates while they attempted to kickstart their film careers.
Recalling living with Eddie during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday night (01Feb18), Jamie explained that the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star was “desperate” and always super competitive.
“We were both very desperate,” he remembered. “And we both had the same agent at the time, and I remember on the second day, one of the couriers from our agency arrived with a pile of scripts, like 25 scripts and Eddie and I were like, ‘Who’s it for?’ It was for me. Eddie didn’t take it that well, he was fine, but then he was sort of calling his agent saying, ‘Jamie just got sent loads of scripts.’ And about an hour later a courier arrived with the exact same stack of scripts.”
Eddie’s persistence has paid off, with the 36-year-old winning an Oscar for his performance in 2014’s
The Theory of Everything, while Jamie, 35, has become famous for his role as Paul Spector in TV series The Fall and as Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades franchise.
