Actor Jamie Foxx has revealed he studied Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs to perfect his moneybags character in movie musical Annie. The Django Unchained star plays a modern-day version of the stageshow’s Daddy Warbucks, named Benjamin Stacks, in the upcoming Annie movie, and admits he didn’t have to look far to find some inspiration.
He says, “I’m a cellular phone mogul. I’m running through the streets of New York, I’m trying to be mayor. And, to be honest with you, I’m letting the cat out the bag just a little bit, I’m sort of mirroring Puffy (Combs) a little bit.”
Annie, which stars Quvenzhane Wallis and Cameron Diaz, is set to hit theatres in 2014.
Warbucks was previously played on the big screen by Albert Finney.
