Single mum January Jones wants to find love on TV – as the star of The Bachelorette.
The former Mad Men star has opened up about her dream reality TV role, revealing her publicist has warned her that a stint on the show could ruin her acting career.
January, who has never identified the father of her five-year-old son, Xander, first came up with the idea of becoming The Bachelorette when she fell for former The Bachelor star Ben Higgins.
“I watch the show, have a couple of glasses of wine, Ben gets kicked off and I’m like, ‘Oh, I’m going to be the next Bachelorette and get that guy,” she says. “Then my publicist says that’s going to ruin my career and I get shot down. But that’s my dream!”
The 39-year-old still has the hots for Bachelor Ben, who recently split from his fiancee Lauren Bushnell, but she’s also very fond of the current Bachelor, Nick Viall.
“Nick’s pretty cute,” she says.
Talking about her ideal man, Jones admits she always seems to be attracted to “dirty” 25-year-olds, adding, “I want a manly man in flannel with a beard and an axe. But there’s always something wrong. Like, he’s a Republican.”
Ironically, Ben Higgins is a fervent Republican.
