British rocker Jarvis Cocker is refusing to celebrate his upcoming 50th birthday because he finds the milestone too depressing. The Pulp frontman turns 50 on 19 September (13), but the singer insists he won’t be throwing a big party to mark the special occasion.
He tells Britain’s Daily Mirror newspaper, “It depresses me. I’m trying to forget about it.”
