The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star sank into a deep depression after splitting from her husband of 11 years, Twilight hunk Peter Facinelli, in March (12), but after turning 40 the following month (Apr12), Garth realised she needed to pull herself together for the sake of their three kids.
She tells People, “I just looked at it like there’s no way I can hide out… and never work again, never love again and never laugh again… Sitting on the couch eating Pringles (chips) all day is not going to help anybody.”
The actress then embarked on a major health overhaul, hiring a trainer to help transform her body, and now she has shown off her new look in a special spread for the publication.
She says, “Being fit helps me have confidence… I have a strong constitution. I have a lot of inner calm about stuff right now.”
Her former co-star Luke Perry, who teamed up with Garth in a new ad campaign for clothing firm Old Navy this summer (12), thinks she looks great: “She looks fabulous. She has the a** of a 25 year old!”
