Jerry Seinfeld and Kevin Spacey win 2013 Webby Awards

Funnyman Jerry Seinfeld and actor Kevin Spacey have been honoured for their contributions to the Internet after landing top prizes at the 2013 Webby Awards. The former Seinfeld star earned the trophy for his Outstanding Comedic Performance in his web series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, and Spacey and Dana Brunetti won a Special Achievement accolade for producing the “game-changing” Netflix series House of Cards.
Other winners included Charlize Theron Gets Hacked, which landed the Monster star a nod for Best Individual Performance in her hit Funny or Die skit, and Canadian musician Grimes, who was crowned Webby Artist of the Year after she released her early recordings on the Internet for free.
Frank Ocean was named Webby Person of the Year after he ‘came out’ as a gay man in a letter posted on photo-sharing website Tumblr.com, and Icelandic rockers Sigur Ros received the top award in the music category for their Fjogur Piano video starring Shia LaBeouf.
The winners will be celebrated at a special ceremony hosted by Patton Oswalt in New York City on 21 May (13).
