Alba, who founded eco-friendly baby firm The Honor Company, received the prestigious Green Parent Award, and The Vampire Diaries star, who launched his own organisation to help protect the world’s animals and eco-systems, was handed the Futures Award.
Also recognised at the ceremony, which honours the year’s best in TV and movies for educating others about important environmental issues, were the cast of Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, which took home the feature film prize, and hit U.S. series Veep, which bested the competition in the small screen category.
The 22nd annual event was hosted by pregnant actress Malin Akerman in Burbank.
