Jessica Simpson celebrates daughter’s first birthday

Pop star Jessica Simpson and her fiance Eric Johnson celebrated their daughter’s first birthday on Sunday (28Apr13) during a special fair-themed bash in the backyard of their California home. Little Maxwell Drew officially turns a year older on Wednesday (01May13), but Simpson, the former American football player and 50 friends and family showered the tot with gifts early to mark the big milestone. The fashion designer’s parents, Joe and Tina Simpson, put aside their personal problems for the party, which came just days after their divorce was finalised.
A children’s band and face painters were hired to provide the entertainment and guests dined on hot dogs, grilled cheese and tacos.
A source tells People.com, “Maxwell had a great time! Everyone was in great spirits. All of her grandparents were there. She loved listening to the band and seeing the other babies!”
The Irresistible singer is currently expecting her second child, a baby boy, due in August (13).
