Jessie J lands gig as a judge on The Voice Kids

Jessie J has been confirmed as a new coach on British TV talent show The Voice Kids.
The 30-year-old will join will.i.am, McFly’s Danny Jones and British singer Pixie Lott on the judging panel for the show’s second series, which begins filming again this week.
Jessie already has a connection to the show, as she served as a judge on the first series of The Voice UK and The Voice Australia in series four, coaching Ellie Drennan to win the show.
“I love kids, I love to sing and I love to share all I know about singing and performing,” Jessie said in statement, obtained by Mail Online. “The idea of combining those three things again on The Voice Kids is a dream come true. I am grateful to have been asked back.
“I am so excited to share my experience with the young singers on the show, who are just starting to discover themselves as singers.”
The British singer, who has been in the headlines recently thanks to her new romance with Magic Mike star Channing Tatum, also added she will be “protective” of the young contestants throughout the competitive process.
“I will be protective of their experience emotionally, as well as vocally. It’s a huge moment in their lives and I am happy I get to be someone to help and hold their hand,” she explained.
Fellow judge Pixie, whose finalist Daniel was crowned the winner last year, said she is “thrilled” to have another woman joining the panel.
“We’ve performed at some of the same gigs in the past and I’ve always admired her voice,” she smiled.
While head coach will.i.am praised added: “Fantastic to be back alongside Pixie, Danny and now adding my friend Jessie J to the coaches panel.
“Jessie will add a new dynamic as we each compete to secure the freshest new talent in Britain to our teams.”
