Jimmy Kimmel pokes fun at 2017 Oscars error in hilarious new ad

Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel and Warren Beatty have poked fun at last year’s (17) Academy Awards Best Picture flub in a new ad for the 2018 ceremony.
Kimmel, who is returning to host the awards show for a second year, appears to be chatting to a therapist about the drama in the new commercial, but it’s actually Beatty, who urges the funnyman to “get out of my house”.
The actor/director was handed the wrong envelope before he hit the stage to announce the winner of the Best Picture – and called up the cast, director and producers of La La Land.
The error was corrected and a minute later Moonlight was name the winner of the top prize, as chaos rained down on the proceedings, and director Barry Jenkins and his producers walked to the stage.
The muddled moment is featured at the beginning of the new ad as Kimmel awakes from a nightmare and reveals he’s always thinking about the Best Picture mishap, joking he can no longer open an envelope as mail piles up at his door.
The comedian also tries to destroy every memory of his 2017 hosting gig by setting fire to the tuxedo he wore.
Expect Kimmel to poke more fun at last year’s Oscars flub when he hosts the Academy Awards again on 4 March (18).
