Joe Pantoliano not a fan of reality TV

The actor insists shows like the Real Housewives and Keeping Up With the Kardashians set a bad example for the youth of today and contribute to the “societal decline” of the U.S.

He tells blog AllisonsWord.com, “I don’t watch it (reality TV). I think it’s really damaging. I think it’s another nail in the coffin of this societal decline. (Reality) television caters to the lowest denomination. If it’s being viewed, it doesn’t have anything to do with content.

“It promotes the kind of insidious, self-centred, narcissistic horses**t like The Real Housewives.

“Now what do these kids think? These kids are thinking, ‘Oh, I’ll be a reality star. Or do a sex tape and leak it out and become a star.’ You got to be careful showing these kids that stuff. I have a real pet peeve about that.”

Pantoliano sparked a feud with Real Housewives regular Taylor Armstrong earlier this week (beg06Aug12) when he recalled overhearing her at a charity party allegedly complaining about how Amy Winehouse’s death had bumped her off the front of America’s People magazine.

Armstrong’s publicist insists her client would never have made the comments the actor claims he heard.
