John Ridley confirms secret TV project with Marvel

Oscar-winning screenwriter JOHN RIDLEY has been sworn to secrecy after signing up to help pen a new Marvel TV series.
The 12 Years A Slave scribe hit headlines on Friday (17Apr15) after it was reported he was working with Marvel executives on a mystery show for America’s ABC network, which is currently airing his American Crime drama series.
Ridley confirms a deal is in place, but he is refusing to share any details about which comic book characters he will be helping to bring to life onscreen, only to state much of fans’ speculation online is unfounded.
During an appearance on Good Morning America, he says, “It is a secret project. I honestly can’t say much about it, except that I’m really happy to be working again at ABC and Marvel. Obviously… they really know what they’re doing in that space in creating good characters, so can’t say too much, except that most of the speculation is completely wrong.”
Ridley’s announcement emerges shortly after Marvel bosses revealed plans to create a spin-off from Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. series.
