John Stamos pulled out all the stops to propose to girlfriend Caitlin McHugh during a recent trip to Disneyland.
The Full House actor revealed he’s set to wed for a second time by sharing a drawing of himself and Caitlin in front of the Disney castle on Instagram on Sunday night (22Oct17), alongside the caption: “I asked… she said yes!… And we lived happily ever after.”
Now further details have been revealed about how the 54-year-old actor asked his actress girlfriend to be his wife.
According to a statement from John’s representative given to Today, the heartthrob cut together a film which combined romantic scenes from Disney and Pixar animation films to show Caitlin as they enjoyed Disneyland. The footage ended with loveable crab Sebastian from The Little Mermaid changing the lyrics to famous song Kiss the Girl to urge John to “just ask the girl”.
At that point, John asked Caitlin to marry him, to which the 31-year-old said yes.
John has previously spoken about Caitlin’s love for all things Disney. Back in March, 2016, he revealed during an interview on The View that he was in a relationship, while keeping her identity a secret.
John was recalling a recent show he played with The Beach Boys, when he revealed he had tried to set up a video call with his new lady love while onstage so she could watch one particular performance via her cell phone.
“The other night, I grabbed my phone because there’s this girl I’m dating…” he began. “She loves this song Disney Girls. So I grabbed my phone and put it in front of (me) to shoot the whole thing. I thought I got away with it. And people were like, ‘Who are you FaceTiming (sic)?'”
John was previously married to actress Rebecca Romijn from 1998 to 2005.
