Johnny Ruffo has appendix removed

Australian singer/actor Johnny Ruffo has been rushed to hospital for emergency surgery after he was struck down with appendicitis. Ruffo, who found fame on the Aussie version of The X Factor in 2011, fell ill with excruciating stomach pains on Sunday (16Jun13) and was taken to a medical unit for treatment.
Doctors diagnosed appendicitis and Ruffo underwent surgery to remove his appendix.
He was due to film scenes for his role as Chris Harrington in hit soap opera Home & Away on Monday (17Jun13) but missed the shoot as he is still in hospital recovering.
Speaking from his sick bed, Ruffo tells the Sydney Daily Telegraph, “I’m fine, I’ll be back at work in a couple of days.”
A Home & Away spokeswoman adds, “Johnny is recovering well and we look forward to having him back on set.”
