Renee Zellweger volunteers at dog shelter

Dog lover Renee Zellweger stunned volunteers at a pet shelter in Houston, Texas last week (ends15Sep17) when she showed up unannounced to help with the Hurricane Harvey clean-up.
Houston Pets Alive founder Andrea Birkelbach tells U.S. news show Today she didn’t realise there was an Oscar winner on her team – because the Bridget Jones’s Diary star was insistent on blending in as just another volunteer.
Birkelbach insists she wouldn’t even have known Renee was in the building if a friend hadn’t pointed her out.
“She had already been there for a couple of hours, totally incognito,” Andrea says. “She was here four days literally cleaning crates, doing laundry and walking the dogs.”
Renee posed for photos with the team before her volunteer stint was up and the shots have been posted online.
