Jon Stevens breaks leg on fishing trip

New Zealand rocker Jon Stevens is preparing to embark on a U.S. tour with a broken leg after he was injured during a fishing trip in Australia. The musician is preparing to kick off a series of American shows in Pennsylvania on Thursday (08Aug13), and the singer has now revealed he will be performing the concerts with his leg in a cast.
Stevens broke his leg and dislocated his thumb on a recent fishing trip, but he has assured fans he still intends to perform as planned.
He has taken to Facebook.com to post a picture of himself on a plane with his broken leg propped up on a row of seats, alongside a message which reads, “It’s been so exciting getting set for The Dead Daisies U.S. tour. Sincere gratitude for all the well wishes but can you stop with the ‘break a leg’ coz (sic), guess what? I broke my leg and dislocated the Maori strum thumb on a recent fishing trip in North Queensland. But as we say in the good old Rock n Roll tradition… the show must go on. The voice still works so I have no excuse to stay home tending the sheep… Ya gotta (sic) laugh. Can’t wait to hop around on stage with The Dead Daisies woohoo!!!”
The Dead Daisies recently performed with Aerosmith on the group’s tour Down Under.
