Jonah Hill to star in diamond district drama Uncut Gems

Jonah Hill has signed on to appear in upcoming crime thriller Uncut Gems.
The Oscar-nominated actor will play Howard Ratner in the film, which is set in the fast-paced world of New York City’s diamond district, according to Deadline.
Uncut Gems will be directed by Josh and Benny Safdie, and is based on a script the brothers had written with Ronald Bronstein. Hollywood filmmaker Martin Scorsese and Emma Tillinger Koskoff will act as executive producers on the project.
Hill has recently wrapped filming on Gus Van Sant’s Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot, which follows the life of cartoonist John Callahan, and also stars Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara.
The 33-year-old is currently working on Netflix series Maniac with Emma Stone, and is also gearing up to make his directorial debut with movie Mid ’90s, a coming-of-age film based on a script he penned.
A release date for Uncut Gems has not yet been announced.
