Yo Gotti named person of interest in Young Dolph shooting – report

Yo Gotti has reportedly been named a person of interest by police investigating the shooting of fellow rapper Young Dolph.
The hip-hop star, real name Adolph Thornton, Jr., was shot multiple times in the valet parking area of the Loews Hollywood Hotel at the popular Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon (26Sep17).
He managed to get up and run to a nearby shoe store and was then transported to a hospital where he was in critical condition and had to undergo surgery, LAPD Detective Meghan Aguilar told KTLA.
The rapper was reportedly shot after an argument with three other people outside the hotel.
“They had an argument, which escalated to a physical fight,” Aguilar said. “At one point, Young Dolph was knocked to the ground. And then one of the suspects pulled out a handgun and began shooting at him.”
According to TMZ.com, Yo Gotti was staying at the same hotel at the same time and their crews got into a disagreement shortly before the shots were fired. Witnesses reportedly told the site’s law enforcement sources that the star, whose hit track Rake It Up features rapper Nicki Minaj and is at number eight in the Billboard Hot 100, was involved.
Gotti and Dolph, who were both raised in Memphis, Tennessee, have had a long-running feud dating back to 2014, when Dolph declined a record deal with Gotti, real name Mario Mims, but it intensified in early 2017 when they each released diss tracks about each other and Blac Youngsta, who is signed with Yo Gotti, turned himself into the police over the shooting of Dolph’s car in February. His sports utility vehicle was shot at over 100 times while he was out and about in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Aguilar told KTLA police have detained one man involved the Tuesday altercation but they are not sure it was the person responsible for the shooting. They are still looking for the two other men.
