Julia Louis-Dreyfus supports U.S. Supreme Court nominee accuser

Actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus is throwing her support behind a woman who has accused U.S. Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct.

Doctor Christine Blasey Ford alleges President Donald Trump’s judicial nominee sexually assaulted her decades ago at a party, when she was a student at the Veep star’s Alma mater Holton-Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland.

Kavanaugh has vehemently denied the allegations against him, but Dreyfus and 200 other school alumnae “believe” Ford.

“We believe Dr. Blasey Ford and are grateful that she came forward to tell her story,” a draft of a letter the actress has signed reads. “It demands a thorough and independent investigation before the Senate can reasonably vote on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to a lifetime seat on the nation’s highest court.”

“I was class of ’79 & signed this letter,” Dreyfus adds on Twitter.

On Monday (24Sep18), Kavanaugh and Ford will testify about the alleged incident at a hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
