Julianne Moore has been cast to appear in Luca Guadagnino’s short film with Valentino designer Pierpaolo Piccioli.
The Call Me by Your Name filmmaker teamed up with the creative director of the Italian fashion house to make the short, which blends the principles of film and couture.
According to Variety, the 35-minute film will centre on Moore’s character, Francesca, and her relationship with her mum at different points of her life. The piece will also star Kyle MacLachlan, Mia Goth and Alba Rohrwacher, while the soundtrack was composed by Oscar-winner Ryuichi Sakamoto.
Guadagnino hopes the film will make it to the big screen: “The ambition is to play in an important film festival,” he says.
