Julie Bowen Files for Divorce

Modern Family star Julie Bowen has officially filed for divorce from her husband Scott Phillips.

Last week (end04Feb18), it was reported that the actress, who plays Claire Dunphy in the hit sitcom, had separated from Scott, the father of her three children, after 13 years of marriage.

Julie didn’t confirm the news but she made the split official by filing paperwork for the dissolution of her marriage at the Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday (06Feb18), according to TMZ.com.

Julie, 47, married the property investor in 2004 and they have three sons; 10-year-old Oliver and eight-year-old twins John and Gustav. It is not clear if they have worked out custody arrangements or support payments yet.

The former couple, who are extremely private, were last pictured together at a Harlem Globetrotters game with their kids in Los Angeles in February 2017 and last walked the red carpet together in September, 2016 at the Los Angeles LGBT Center’s 47th Anniversary Gala Vanguard Awards in West Hollywood.

At the event, Julie joked that they had outlived other couples because they were too worn out to get a divorce.

“We watch all these people get married and split up and go, ‘Wait, did they get married after us or before us?'” she laughed to Us Weekly. “We outlast all these people. The answer: We’re too tired to do anything else!”

She also gushed to the outlet: “At first I loved my husband and then I loved the kids and now I love our family. When I see my husband with my kids, it makes me so happy. When I see my kids all sitting down at the table together, I’m like ‘This is awesome. We did this!'”

The actress has yet to address the split on social media or change her Twitter bio, which still reads, “Actor, maker of children. Fair-to-middling wife. Play a bit role on Modern Family.”
