Justin Hartley once had a gun pulled on him while dog-sitting

Justin Hartley once had a gun pulled on him while he was searching for a friend’s dog.

The actor made an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday night (26Sep18), and during the interview, host Jimmy asked him about season three spoilers for his hit show This Is Us.

Justin admitted he sometimes makes up storylines when people ask him, but confessed that he isn’t usually a good liar and recalled a time when he was dog-sitting his friend’s German Shepherd while at college and accidentally let the beloved pet escape.

“I spent two days tracking this dog down. I lost like 15 pounds, I was running all over the place. They called me, three or four times a day to check on their dog and I always had an excuse… I was pretending to be the dog, I was making noises,” he recalled. “I found him in this woman’s backyard. I went into her backyard and cornered the dog and the dog was kind of spooked. And she comes out with a cordless phone with the antenna and a gun. And I was like, ‘Ma’am! That’s my dog!'”

Thankfully, Justin managed to get the dog and head back home. But in his haste, he realized that he’d left his keys inside the house.

“I was in a rush to get out of the house so fast, that when I got back with the dog and I had secured the animal, I had locked myself out of my house,” the 41-year-old sighed. “(I) had to break in through the window!”
