Justin Theroux and Orlando Bloom were among the celebrities lending their support to new luxury cannabis brand Beboe in West Hollywood on Thursday (16Mar17).
Actresses Sharon Stone, Rose McGowan, and Malin Akerman, and rocker Benji Madden were also in attendance for the launch, which was held at a private pad.
Beboe was created by famed New York tattoo artist Scott Campbell, the husband of actress Lake Bell, and Clement Kwan, and their collection features high-end marijuana-infused products for more sophisticated stoner fans.
“We wanted to create a product that we’d be proud to give to our friends,” reads a statement from Campbell.
The announcement continues, “We set out to create not only a quality product, but something that would truly change the way people saw cannabis as a product.”
Although many celebrities enjoy the drug recreationally now that it is legal in California and many other states, others use it for medical reasons, like Sir Patrick Stewart, who has revealed marijuana has helped to ease the pain of arthritis.
“Two years ago, in Los Angeles, I was examined by a doctor and given a note which gave me legal permission to purchase, from a registered outlet, cannabis-based products, which I was advised might help the ortho-arthritis in both my hands,” he said in a statement as he backed an initiative by Britain’s Oxford University, which looks into the benefits of cannabis-based medicines.
Patrick uses a cannabis ointment at night to help reduce the pain so he can sleep, and a spray on “my fingers and particularly my thumb joints several times a day”, which he believes have “significantly reduced the stiffness and pain in my hands”.
