Justin Timberlake reaches deal in legal battle over Damn Girl track

Justin Timberlake has finally reached a deal over allegations he ripped off a disco track for his song Damn Girl.
Back in 2016, bosses at PK Music Performance sued the 38-year-old, producer will.i.am and executives at Sony Music, claiming they sampled Perry Kimble’s 1970s song A New Day Is Here At Last without their permission.
Executives at PK obtained the rights to Kimble’s song in 1999, following his death.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Timberlake and PK have agreed to resolve all claims against the singer, and the case will officially be closed.
In the original lawsuit, PK accused the SexyBack hitmaker of sampling the music and using it on the track that featured on his 2006 album, Futuresex/Lovesounds.
PK Music demanded an injunction against the singer and actor to stop him from continuing to profit off the alleged infringement, as well as unspecified damages.
