Kanye West axes two more gigs on Yeezus Tour

Rapper Kanye West has postponed two more dates on his current North American tour after vital stage equipment was wrecked in a traffic accident last week (ends01Nov13). The Stronger hitmaker’s Yeezus Tour has been on hold since 30 October (13), when a “custom-made video truss and 60-foot circular LED screen” were damaged beyond repair, forcing him to axe a Halloween night (31Oct13) gig in Vancouver, Canada.
At the time of the accident, a spokesman for Def Jam Records said, “This gear is central to the staging of The Yeezus Tour, and central to the creative vision put forth by Kanye West and his design team… Kanye West will not compromise on bringing the show, as it was originally envisioned and designed, to his fans.”
West also had to cancel a gig in Denver, Colorado last Friday (01Nov13) and Tuesday night’s (05Nov13) show in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and now he’s added two hometown concerts in Chicago, Illinois on Thursday (07Nov13) and Saturday (09Nov13) to the list of affected dates. Both are expected to be rescheduled.
