Kanye West won’t be charged for alleged assault

Rapper Kanye West will not be charged for an alleged assault on a teen who bad-mouthed his fiancee Kim Kardashian last month (Jan14). Police launched an investigation into the reported clash, which took place outside a Los Angeles medical centre on 13 January (14), but the male, who has not been identified, recently skipped a scheduled follow-up interview with Beverly Hills authorities.
The two parties recently struck a deal worth more than $250,000 (£156,250) for the youth to drop charges against West, and now prosecutors have decided not to pursue the case.
Legal papers obtained by editors at the New York Daily News read, “No significant injuries were documented. Victim’s attorney has indicated a civil compromise has been reached, and although a police report was filed, Victim no longer desires criminal prosecution.
“Further inquiry by this office resulted in the victim, through his attorney, declining to speak with a member of the District Attorney’s Office.”
