Kate Hudson leaves engagement ring behind as she attends Oscars solo

Actress Kate Hudson fuelled speculation her romance with Muse frontman Matt Bellamy is in trouble after ditching her engagement ring for the Oscars on Sunday (02Mar14). The Almost Famous star has been engaged to the British rocker since 2011, but rumours surfaced last week (ends28Feb14) suggesting their four-year relationship had hit a stumbling block.
A source told People magazine, “Kate and Matt have been on the rocks for some time. They’re not in a great place.”
Representatives for the pair refused to comment on the claims, but Hudson’s diamond sparkler was noticeably absent from her ring finger as she walked the red carpet solo at the Academy Awards on Sunday, when she wore a stunning Atelier Versace dress.
The blonde beauty, whose mother Goldie Hawn and her partner Kurt Russell were also in attendance at the Oscars, was also sans engagement ring five days earlier, when she appeared at BVLGARI’s Decades of Glamour event on Tuesday (25Feb14).
Hudson and Bellamy, who are parents to two-year-old son Bingham, were last spotted in public together in December (13), when the actress and her two kids joined Bellamy’s family for Christmas.
She is also mum to 10-year-old son Ryder, from her previous marriage to Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson.
