Actress Katherine Heigl is set to lead the cast of the upcoming TV version of bestselling novel Firefly Lane.
The former Grey’s Anatomy star will portray ambitious Tully Hart, whose close friendship with her best pal of 30 years is thrown into jeopardy after a shocking betrayal.
The show is based on author Kristin Hannah’s 2008 book, which will be adapted for streaming service Netflix by Maggie Friedman, who will also serve as showrunner.
Friedman, Heigl, and Hannah will also oversee the 10-episode project’s development as co-executive producers, alongside UnReal’s Peter O’Fallon, who will direct the first installment.
Firefly Lane is the third of Hannah’s novels to be picked up for production – The Nightingale and The Great Alone are also heading to the screen via officials at TriStar Pictures.
