Kathryn Fiore meets baby for first time after near-death childbirth

Actress and new mum Kathryn Fiore has been discharged from hospital four weeks after almost losing her life during childbirth. The Mission: Impossible III star underwent an emergency Caesarean section on 28 May (13) to give birth to her daughter, Alice, after suffering a uterine haemorrhage.
Her health crisis took a further turn for the worse when she went into septic shock and suffered organ failure, and her condition was only stabilised 12 days later following emergency dialysis.
The 33 year old’s friends and family members appealed for donations from fans online to help cover her spiralling medical costs and the months of intensive therapy treatment Fiore now faces to learn how to walk and use her hands again, and in an update on their GiveForward.com fundraising page, a pal reveals the actress is back at home with her husband Gabriel Tigerman and has finally met her baby girl.
The friend writes, “After almost four grueling (sic) weeks in the hospital…Kathryn is finally home where she got to meet her daughter for the very first time!
“Gabe reports that her first glimpse of baby Alice brought the biggest smile to her face he has ever ever seen. So now, the healing powers of her infant daughter can begin to work their magic.”
The pal has also thanked fans for their kind donations as Fiore begins to make daily trips back to the hospital for outpatient therapy and dialysis treatments.
As WENN went to press, over $62,000 (£40,000) of the group’s $200,000 (£129,032) goal had been raised, with 69 days of the fundraiser to go.
