Kathy Griffin faints during stand-up show

Comedienne Kathy Griffin shocked fans attending her stand-up show in Dublin, Ireland on Wednesday night (08Nov17) when she fainted towards the end of her set.
The funnywoman was performing at the Vicar Street theatre as part of her Laugh Your Head Off world tour when she started to feel ill, and leaned on her microphone stand for support as she called out for help.
“Randy, I’m going down,” she said, according to The New York Times.
Griffin later took to Twitter to address the incident, admitting she was “embarrassed more than anything”.
“I had one more story,” she continued in a video message to fans. “I had five more minutes. I had gone for almost two and a half hours.”
She also gave a shout out to U.S. TV host Wendy Williams, who hit headlines last week (31Oct17) when she fainted on air during a Halloween special, saying, “This one’s for you, Wendy Williams. Girl down. I had a girl down moment.”
Griffin concluded her post by adding, “The audience was fantastic. Thank you for being forgiving and understanding, and I promise to be upright the entire show next time.”
Her tour continues in London on Friday night (10Nov17).
