Katy Perry proud to be the highest paid person on American Idol

Katy Perry is proud of her salary stand-off with American Idol revamp producers because now she’ll be earning more than any man who has graced the talent show’s stage.
The singer will reportedly pick up $25 million (GBP19 million) for her upcoming stint as an Idol judge, and though she’s not confirming the numbers, Katy does like the idea of becoming the talent show’s highest paid celebrity.
“I’m really proud that, as a woman, I got paid,” she told U.S. radio host Carolina Bermudez on Tuesday (23May17).
“I got paid, like, more than pretty much any guy that’s been on that show. And, by the way, I love men. So I’m a paid woman and I’m ready for a beautiful man.”
Perry became the first celebrity confirmed for the new show, which will debut on U.S. network ABC later this year (17).
Reports suggest former Idol favourite Chris Daughtry and ex-winner Carrie Underwood will join Perry.
