Ke$ha asks fans to adopt animals at closing shelter

Animal-loving pop star Ke$Ha has issued an urgent appeal asking fans to adopt pets from a California rescue centre facing closure. The Kern County Animal Control facility in Bakersfield will shut its doors forever later this month (30Sep13), and the TiK ToK hitmaker has joined the volunteers who are scrambling to rehome the shelter’s abandoned cats and dogs.
Ke$ha took to her Twitter.com page to ask followers for help, writing, “Anyone interested in saving a life!? Please go to Kern County Animal Shelter. They are being evicted and have over 700 dogs and cats that need to be rescued by September 30th or they will all be put down. Dogs are $15 and cats are $5. All are spayed/neutered, microchipped and have shots. Please go and save a life!”
