Actor/comedian Keegan-Michael Key‘s estranged wife is requesting spousal support in their divorce settlement.
The Key & Peele star, who appeared in Pitch Perfect 2, Why Him? and Horrible Bosses 2, filed for divorce from Hollywood dialect coach Cynthia Blaise, his wife of 17 years, at the end of 2015.
Blaise has now filed paperwork seeking spousal support, claiming she has been left in financial ruin since the split because she’s had to give up her career, according to TMZ.com.
In new legal documents, Blaise alleges the split has caused her serious health issues such as severe depression, anxiety, hair and weight loss and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and she’s been taking five different sets of medication ever since.
Blaise, who says she supported Key before his career took off, also wants their assets to be fairly split and her attorney fees to be covered.
The estranged couple, who had no children, married in 1998. He has since moved on with actress/producer Elisa Pugliese.
