Romantic comedy Keep The Change has been named the Best Narrative Feature at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival.
Rachel Israel’s movie, about two young lovers with autism, won the Founders Award for Best Narrative Feature, while the filmmaker was honored as Best New Narrative Director.
Alessandro Nivola claimed the Best Actor in a U.S. Narrative Feature Film prize for his role in One Percent More Humid, and Nadia Alexander landed the female equivalent for Blame.
Meanwhile, Best International Narrative Feature Film went to Elina Psykou’s Son of Sofia, with acting accolades awarded to Guillermo Pfening (Nobody’s Watching) and Marie Leuenberger (The Divine Order).
In the documentary competition field, Oscar Isaac’s girlfriend Elvira Lind landed double honors for Bobbi Jene, her film about ballet dancer Bobbi Jene Smith, scoring prizes for Best Documentary Feature and Best Documentary Cinematography.
Bobbi Jene also triumphed in Best Documentary Editing for Adam Nielson.
New York’s Tribeca Film Festival, co-founded by Robert De Niro, runs until Sunday (30Apr17).
The closing weekend (29-30Apr17) will feature a special cast reunion for The Godfather and its sequel, The Godfather: Part II, in which De Niro stars, at the fabled Radio City Music Hall on 29 April (17).
The screening event will be followed by a panel discussion led by director Francis Ford Coppola and featuring franchise stars Al Pacino, James Caan, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, and De Niro.
