Kendrick surprised at Twilight success

The original installment of the bloodsucker romance series hit the big screen in 2008 and became an instant phenomenon, making superstars of its lead actors Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.

The supporting cast also went on to big things in Hollywood, with Kendrick landing an Oscar nomination for her role in George Clooney’s Up In The Air.

But the actress is adamant she had no clue the film would propel the cast to global stardom, revealing studio bosses didn’t even spend money on organising a bash to celebrate the end of filming.

Kendrick tells Hello! magazine, “People say, ‘But you must have known it was a big deal,’ but, no, we didn’t. We even threw our own wrap part after the first movie.

“Emails were exchanged between us saying, ‘Hey, do you want to hang out? Do you think we should have a little wrap party thing?’

“It was not like being on a big movie; the success of the first film was an accident. I don’t really think something like that would happen again by accident.”
