Keri Russell in talks to join Star Wars: Episode IX

Actress Keri Russell is reportedly in early talks to reunite with filmmaker J.J. Abrams on Star Wars: Episode IX.

The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes star last worked with Abrams on 2006’s Mission: Impossible III, but the moviemaker is now looking to cast her in the new sci-fi epic, which he is writing and directing.
Details about the part Keri is being considered for have yet to be released, but she will reportedly perform “action-heavy fight scenes”.

According to Variety, Abrams met with other actresses about the role, but made his decision about Russell earlier this week (ends06Jul18). The director is also looking to bring two more main actors into the cast, which is expected to include the return of new trilogy stars John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, and Adam Driver.
