Kerry Washington Leads Twitter Praise as Doug Jones Wins Alabama Senate Race

Kerry Washington was among the celebrities congratulating Doug Jones after he defeated controversial candidate Roy Moore in the race for the U.S. Senate seat for the state of Alabama.

The competition had been hitting headlines due to the allegations made against Moore, who has been accused of sexual misconduct by eight women, five of whom claim they were teenagers when the politician pursued them in his 30s.

Moore, now 71, has denied all the allegations but faced strong opposition from celebrities including Uma Thurman and Connie Britton, who urged their followers not to vote for someone accused of such behavior.
