Khloe Kardashian has recalled how she began “screaming” when she thought her ex-husband Lamar Odom had died.
The basketball player was hospitalized at the end of 2015 after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel following a drug overdose.
At the time he and Khloe were still officially married and in a teaser clip for the upcoming 10th anniversary special of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the reality star revealed her panic when she was told Lamar had passed away.
“On the plane, they said he died,” Khloe, who delayed her divorce proceedings while the sportsman recovered, explained to host Ryan Seacrest, adding that it was actually a “fake” message.
Clarifying what she meant, her sister Kim added, “Someone made a fake account and emailed me with the wrong information. You should have seen Khloe…”
“I was screaming,” Khloe sighed. “But to think, and to go through the motions as if someone has passed away is the most traumatic thing to do, and then to know they’re really alive… It was too many emotions, I think, for any of us to handle.”
Kendall Jenner also opened up about that time, citing the aftermath of the incident as the “toughest” day of work she has ever experienced.
“I landed in London and the first text that popped into my phone was from Kim and it had said that Lamar passed away. And I immediately started sobbing on the plane,” the 21-year-old model, who has recently been walking in Fashion Week shows, said. “Then I got the next text came through, saying,
‘OK, actually, he’s OK, but he’s not doing well.’ So that’s why I was so upset, because I wanted to be there to say goodbye.”
In another video from the upcoming episode Khloe discusses her current relationship with Canadian basketball player Tristan Thompson, acknowledging, “I kind of have a type, I guess,” and also admitting she and her beau instantly connected.
