Kings of Leon disgusted by raunchy pop stars

Rockers Kings Of Leon have criticised raunchy female pop stars such as Miley Cyrus and Rihanna for setting a bad example for young fans. Guitarist Matthew Followill is convinced the majority of modern pop music is “f**king awful” and he can’t believe kids are allowed to watch such saucy videos and provocative performances from today’s female stars.
He tells the Sydney Morning Herald, “Some pop shows I watch, it feels like the end of the world, it’s f**king awful. It’s not even music any more. You would never want your children to watch (shows like that) and I can’t believe that younger kids, even teenagers are watching that stuff. It almost seems to be making the world a bad place.”
His bandmate and cousin Jared Followill adds, “They make me cringe. I can’t watch that stuff. Not even just because they’re taking their clothes off, it’s the whole thing, the dance moves, it’s not good.”
Cyrus has been a regular in the headlines in recent months over her racy antics, which have included a controversial performance with Robin Thicke at the recent MTV Video Music Awards and the release of her Wrecking Ball video, in which she appears naked apart from a pair of boots.
