Knox, who was played onscreen by Hayden Panettiere in a TV movie, has signed with publishing house HarperCollins to tell her story in a deal said to be worth $4 million (£2.5 million).
She spent four years behind bars in Italy for killing her roommate Meredith Kercher in Perugia in 2007, but her conviction was overturned last year (11).
A statement from HarperCollins reads, “Knox will give a full and unflinching account of the events that led to her arrest in Perugia and her struggles with the complexities of the Italian judicial system. Aided by journals she kept during her imprisonment, Knox will talk about her harrowing experience at the hands of the Italian police and later prison guards and inmates.”
The currently untitled book is tentatively scheduled for release early next year (13).
