Kurt Cobain’s mother worried son struggled with fame years before death

Kurt Cobain’s mother expressed concern for her son’s ability to cope with fame during a previously unseen TV interview recorded two years before his death. Grunge icons Nirvana returned to Seattle, Washington for a homecoming show in 1992 when the band was at the height of its success following the release of the rockers’ acclaimed album Nevermind.
Producers at music channel MTV interviewed a number of devoted fans at the concert and also spoke to Cobain’s mother Wendy, but the footage never aired.
It has since been unearthed by staff at WashedUpEmo.com and in the clip, Wendy admits she worries about how fame would affect her rocker son.
Asked about her views on her son’s success, Wendy says, “I have mixed emotions about it. Because I’m glad that he made enough of a success to make a living, but some of it is too much for him, I think. For all of us, really, it’s a little overwhelming.”
Cobain, who struggled with a drug addiction, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at his home in Seattle in 1994. In a note found beside the body, the 27-year-old singer implies that he struggled to deal with the pressures of fame.
