Kurt Russell is still in awe of his “spectacular” partner Goldie Hawn 34 years after they first fell in love.

The actor recently opened up about his relationship with the Oscar-nominee, insisting they’re like any other couple, despite being in the spotlight for over three decades, and in a new interview with U.S. TV show Extra, the 66-year-old reveals he and Goldie have something special.

“I’ve said this for 34 years, I don’t think Goldie and I, in real terms, are any different than any other couple,” he says. “We go through all the same things…

“There’s gonna be ups and downs and sideways and everything else… I just think after 34 years you’re gonna have experienced every emotion that you can together.”

And Kurt notes their love has allowed them to overcome obstacles.

“I think that love conquers all and there have been times where I felt like, she’s like, ‘No this can’t go on,’ and you know, and vice versa,” he adds. “I think that’s the same for everybody… you come out the other side.”

But The Hateful Eight star can’t help but gush about the 71-year-old, telling Extra, “Goldie is just spectacular, she is great, she is spectacular, she is the right girl for me.”

Both Russell and Hawn are currently promoting high profile films – Russell can be seen in the box office smash Fast 8 and will soon appear in the highly anticipated Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, while Hawn will make her first onscreen appearance in 13 years, opposite Amy Schumer, in the comedy Snatch.

Russell and Hawn have been a couple since working together on the film Swing Shift in 1983. They also appeared alongside one another in the classic 1987 comedy Overboard.
