Kylie Minogue: ‘Miley Cyrus is a scapegoat’

Pop superstar Kylie Minogue has spoken out in support of Miley Cyrus, insisting the singer has been made a “scapegoat” over her saucy antics. Former child star Cyrus sparked a wave of criticism last year (13) for her outrageous stage routines, and many commentators accused the ex-Hannah Montana actress of being a bad influence on children.
However, Spinning Around hitmaker Minogue is adamant the Can’t Be Tamed singer is brave for overhauling her image as she grows up and insists it is important young female stars can express themselves.
The Australian singer tells Sky News, “I admire people like Miley, like Rihanna, you know – girls that are just… they are quite unapologetic about what they are doing. Is it too much? It depends on what your personal taste is, but she is definitely a scapegoat for what might be happening in a broader sense in pop music.”
