La Mafia frontman recovering from injuries after nightclub attack

La Mafia frontman Oscar De La Rosa is recovering after he was attacked outside a Texas nightclub on Monday (13May13). The lead singer of the Grammy-winning Tejano group was allegedly assaulted by an intoxicated fan, who knocked De La Rosa and his driver unconscious in the early hours of the morning.
The singer was admitted to the trauma unit at the Memorial Herman Hospital with severe injuries, but is now resting comfortably at his home after suffering head wounds, facial lacerations, and possible damage to his right eye. He also lost two teeth.
A police report has been filed and the case is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, the group has cancelled its upcoming show in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday (18May13) to allow the Nuevamente hitmaker more time to recover.
A post on the band’s page reads, “La Mafia has officially canceled the performance scheduled in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday May 18 due to the recent assault on Oscar De La Rosa.
“Oscar is back home recovering from his injuries. He has asked that we thank everyone for their heartfelt prayers and support. Our apologies to our friends and fans in Atlanta; Oscar and the band were really looking forward to that show.”
