Leelee Sobieski feels like Hollywood ‘outsider’

Leelee Sobieski feels like an “outsider” after putting her job as an actress on the backburner to become a full-time mother.
The 32-year-old started her acting career at the age of 11, and although she found success in Hollywood over the years in movies such as Never Been Kissed and Eyes Wide Shut, she hasn’t been in front of the cameras since 2012 fantasy thriller Branded.
After marrying her fashion designer husband Adam Kimmel in 2010, she became a mother to daughter Louisanna, six, and 20-month-old son Martin, and has focused on being a parent ever since.
And during a rare red carpet appearance at the Chanel Tribeca Artist Dinner in New York City on Monday (18Apr16), she admitted she felt a little out of place at such a star-studded event.
“I don’t do movie stuff anymore,” Leelee explained to Us Weekly. “I am totally an outsider! I… am just a mum and an outsider.”
As for a possible return to film, she joked, “Maybe if I’m playing sweet grandma. But I am just focused on my kids. I think that’s mainly why I stopped.”
Leelee also revealed that in addition to caring for her kids, she helps her husband on his clothing line, and “secretly” enjoys painting in her spare time.
