Lenny Dykstra freed from prison

Shamed former baseball player Lenny Dykstra has been released from prison. The former New York Mets player walked free from the Victorville Federal Correctional Complex in California on Thursday (20Jun13) after serving nearly seven months behind bars, according to TMZ.com.
Dykstra, 50, was handed a three-year prison sentence in 2012 stemming from his part in a grand theft auto case, and had six months added to the term after he was convicted of bankruptcy fraud and money laundering.
The website reports he is now out of jail and will serve three years on supervised release, which includes 500 hours community service, drug testing and enrolment in a substance abuse program. Dykstra has also been ordered to pay $200,000 (£129,033) to his creditors.
The star is friends with actor Charlie Sheen, who stepped up to support him by posting his bail in 2011.
