Leona Lewis feared street fall had wrecked her chances of landing film role

Singer Leona Lewis thought she had blown her chances of landing a role in new movie musical Walking On Sunshine when she fell over in the street in front of the film’s directors. The Bleeding Love star, who quit Simon Cowell’s Syco Music label last month (May14) after signing a new deal with Island Records, has a supporting role in the holiday romance movie, but she admits she feared she’d wrecked her chances following a fall after her audition with Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini.
Lewis, who plays leading lady Hannah Arterton’s friend in the film, says, “I had to audition just the same as anyone else… and I remember sweating, I was so nervous. I came out of the audition and my mum and dad were supposed to pick me up, but they weren’t there. I started walking and tripped over in the street and the directors were behind me.
“It was so embarrassing. I was like, ‘No, that’s it, it’s gone. They think I’m crazy!'”
