Leonard Lauder splits from fiancee after scrapped wedding

Cosmetics tycoon Leonard Lauder has split from his fiancee four months after they called off their wedding, according to a U.S. report. The 80-year-old billionaire, who heads the luxury beauty company set up by his mother Estee Lauder, was due to wed his longterm partner Linda E. Johnson, 55, in August (13), but they scrapped the nuptials shortly before they were due to walk down the aisle.
The couple stayed together after the cancelled wedding, and even went on the trip to Italy which was supposed to be their honeymoon, but a new report now suggests they have split.
New York Post gossip column Page Six has published an email, reportedly sent from the couple to their friends, in which they cancel a planned party.
The note reads, “We are afraid that we must cancel Sunday’s holiday party. Sadly, we have made the difficult but mutual decision to go our separate ways. We will remain friends and certainly cherish the time we spent together. We are so very sorry for the inconvenience and send you our warmest wishes… Best, Linda and Leonard.”
